MANZINI – His Royal Highness Prince Hlangabeza, Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Eswatini Mobile Sports and Arts Voting Fund (SMVAF), has paid tribute to the transformative journey of the Ingwenyama Cup, describing it as a unifying force that has reshaped the nation’s sporting and cultural landscape over the past seven years.
Speaking during the 2024/25 prize presentation dinner at Mavuso Trade Centre, the Prince said the tournament had evolved from a simple competition into a platform that commands both national and international attention. He noted that the Cup had become a symbol of Eswatini’s unity, pride, and progress, drawing people together through football and culture.
Prince Hlangabeza said the Ingwenyama Cup had created economic opportunities for many Emaswati, particularly small business owners and vendors who benefit from the increased activity during the competition. He pointed out that the tournament is not only a celebration of talent but also a vehicle for empowering communities and promoting national identity.
The Prince applauded the support of the people, stating that the continued enthusiasm and loyalty of Emaswati towards their King and the Ingwenyama Cup were central to its success. He said the tournament’s legacy would live on as a proud reflection of Eswatini’s unity, resilience, and excellence.
