Mbabane – The Ministry of Health has wrapped up a nationwide measles Rubella vaccination drive that targeted children between nine months and five years.
Minister of Health Mduduzi Matsebula, speaking on 19 August 2025, said the campaign was conducted under the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) and reached communities in all four regions of the country, including those in hard-to-reach areas. The vaccination exercise also gave children a chance to catch up on other missed vaccines.
Matsebula said the two-week initiative was made possible through the commitment of nurses, community health workers, drivers, environmental health officers, data clerks, monitoring officers, health promotion teams and paramedics, who worked extended hours, including weekends.
He further expressed gratitude to parents and guardians who took their children to vaccination points, adding that the campaign was key in protecting young lives against preventable diseases and securing the future of the nation.
