NDMA strengthens social protection coordination

Mbabane – The National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) convened a Social Protection Cluster meeting yesterday at its headquarters in Mbabane to address emerging social challenges and vulnerabilities in Eswatini.

The meeting brought together representatives from government ministries, UN agencies, and civil society organisations to improve coordination, share information, and align interventions. Discussions included contributions to the country’s multi-hazard calendar, with topics such as Gender-Based Violence also addressed.

NDMA officials said the initiative aims to prepare Eswatini for potential crises, protect lives, and support community resilience. The agency stressed that proactive planning and coordinated responses are key to mitigating the impact of social and disaster-related threats.
