Chiefs and Sundowns play out scoreless draw

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns played out a 0-0 draw at FNB Stadium on Wednesday night, with both teams unable to break the deadlock in an action-packed Betway Premiership clash.

Chiefs made three changes to their starting lineup, bringing in Paseka Mako, Zitha Kwinika, and Pule Mmodi. Sundowns also adjusted their side, introducing Thapelo Morena, Malibongwe Khoza, and Fawaaz Basadien. The home side aimed to end their league winless streak against Sundowns, who last lost to Chiefs in a 2-1 defeat in 2021 under coach Arthur Zwane.

The match opened with fast-paced action. Tashreeq Matthews missed an early chance in the eighth minute after Iqraam Rayners’ header found him. Sundowns struggled to move the ball in attack as Chiefs pressed high, but Masandawana regained composure before halftime.
