MANZINI – The Eswatini International Trade Fair yesterday hosted the launch of the Eswatini Business Shower 2025, a platform created to support young entrepreneurs in the country.
The initiative is a collaboration between the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Eswatini, Junior Achievement Eswatini (JAE), the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade, and FINCORP. Organisers said the platform seeks to nurture the creativity, resilience and determination of young business minds.
UNFPA Head of Office Ms Margaret Thwala-Tembe, represented by Gender and Youth Programme Analyst Ms Zenanile Dlamini, praised JAE for opening doors for young people to transform their ideas into businesses that contribute to national development. She noted that this year UNFPA has been working to integrate sexual and reproductive health and rights into entrepreneurship programmes to ensure that young women and men can grow their businesses while making informed choices about their health and future.
“Empowering young people means investing in their health, education and well-being. It means creating an enabling environment where their ideas can flourish into enterprises that uplift not only themselves but society as a whole,” said Ms Thwala-Tembe.
The Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade, who attended the event, said the Youth Business Shower plays a vital role in driving growth in small and medium enterprises while encouraging innovation. He called for strengthened partnerships among government, private sector and development partners to create a supportive space where young entrepreneurs in Eswatini can succeed.
