Manzini – Prime Minister Russell Dlamini, Deputy Prime Minister Senator Thuli Dladla and several cabinet ministers visited the World Vision Eswatini stall at the Eswatini International Trade Fair on Wednesday, where they were introduced to the organisation’s new National Director, Amos Zaindi.
During the visit, the leaders also met Nontobeko, a beneficiary of World Vision’s Halting the Spread of HIV Project. Once a school dropout due to teenage pregnancy, she is now in her third year at the University of Eswatini studying Social Sciences. Her story was shared as evidence of how the project helps young people rebuild their lives through education and resilience.
The initiative, funded by the Global Fund through the Coordinating Assembly of Non-Governmental Organisations (CANGO), supports adolescent girls and young women with vocational skills, aiming to reduce vulnerability to sexual exploitation and prevent new HIV infections. 
On Thursday, World Vision continued its trade fair activities by showcasing testimonies from project beneficiaries on Voice of the Church radio. Nontobeko joined Nokwanda, another participant, who has been trained in electrical wiring. Nokwanda spoke about how the skills have given her financial independence and the confidence to make informed decisions about her body, a right many young women are still denied.
