PM meets ICMA delegation on urban governance

Mbabane – Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini met with the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) delegation this week, joined by the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Appolo Maphalala, during the ongoing ICMA Conference hosted in the kingdom.

The meeting focused on how Eswatini can benefit from the exchange of knowledge, skills, and global best practices in urban management. The Prime Minister said the platform ensures the country remains part of international dialogue on innovative governance while adapting ideas to suit local needs.

He noted that the ICMA visit comes as Eswatini pursues accelerated development through the Nkwe Programme of Action and the Grand Plan for National Transformation. The delegation was also briefed on legislative reforms aimed at strengthening local governance.

The Prime Minister expressed confidence that the collaboration will create opportunities to empower local authorities, improve service delivery, and raise the quality of life for emaSwati.
