SAA launches new Johannesburg–Gaborone flights

South African Airways will begin operating a twice-daily service between Johannesburg and Gaborone starting 4 November 2025. The new route is aimed at improving direct regional travel for both business and leisure passengers.

Flights will run seven days a week. The morning service departs Johannesburg at 06:35, arriving in Gaborone at 07:35, with the return flight leaving at 08:25 and landing back in Johannesburg at 09:25. The afternoon service leaves Johannesburg at 16:40, reaching Gaborone at 17:40, and returns at 18:30, arriving in Johannesburg at 19:30.

Professor John Lamola, Group CEO of SAA, said the launch strengthens cultural and economic ties between Botswana and South Africa while reinforcing SAA’s role as a premium network carrier. He added that expanding the airline’s footprint across the continent supports regional integration, tourism, and inclusive economic growth.
