NEW YORK – His Majesty King Mswati III is today expected to meet executives from more than 20 major American companies that have shown interest in investing in Eswatini.
The gathering, hosted by the Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA), will take place at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Columbus Circle.
Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade Manqoba Khumalo, who is leading the delegation in New York, revealed that his team has spent the past week holding bilateral talks with firms in energy, agriculture and ICT. He said these sectors were selected because American investors had shown strong interest and because their current contribution to Eswatini’s economy remains below potential.
“We are expecting representatives from over 20 US based companies who are specifically targeting these sectors. A number of them are set to present formal expressions of interest before His Majesty,” said Khumalo.
The event will also hear from Coca Cola’s Senior Vice President for Public Policy, Environmental Sustainability and Social Impact, who is scheduled to reflect on the company’s three decade journey in Eswatini.
