Ezulwini – The Eswatini Revenue Service (ERS) has commenced a two-week Coordinated Border Management (CBM) Mission aimed at improving efficiency and cooperation at the country’s ports of entry.
The workshop, which runs from 6 to 17 October 2025, is supported by the Accelerate World Customs Organization (WCO) Trade Facilitation Programme. It brings together customs and trade experts from the WCO, the Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA), and the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA).
During the mission, participants will finalise the Draft Inter-Agency Regulatory Standard and Business Process Mapping, both of which are key steps toward harmonising border operations and strengthening inter-agency collaboration. 
The opening session was attended by members of the National Trade Facilitation Committee (NTFC) and representatives from several government agencies involved in cross-border trade. Their participation reflects a shared commitment to improving coordination under the Inter-Agency Cooperation Framework.
According to ERS, the mission seeks to align Eswatini’s border management practices with Article 8 of the World Trade Organization’s Trade Facilitation Agreement, which promotes cooperation among border authorities to simplify and expedite the movement of goods.
