Ezulwini – More than 100 submissions have been recorded for the 2025 National Media Awards as journalists across Eswatini compete for top honours in the country’s premier journalism competition.
The awards will recognise work produced by practising journalists whose stories were published or broadcast by media houses registered in Eswatini. Freelance journalists also qualified to enter, provided their work appeared on approved platforms.
Entries were received across several categories including Journalist of the Year, Story of the Year, Photographer of the Year, Emerging Reporter of the Year and Business Reporter of the Year, among others. 
Eligibility was limited to work published or aired between 1 December 2024 and 8 December 2025, meaning material produced outside this period could not be considered. Each journalist was permitted to submit a maximum of three entries, while the same piece of work could only be entered in up to two categories.
Submission procedures required journalists to adhere to set guidelines and category definitions, with official entry forms published through the Eswatini National Association of Journalists and Eswatini Editors Forum channels. Only journalists with work published or aired by media houses registered in Eswatini were considered for the awards.
