Mbabane – The Deputy Prime Minister’s Office has called on parents and guardians across the Kingdom to ensure all school-age children are enrolled as schools prepare to reopen.
Hon Thulisile Dladla said education is a fundamental right for every child, and parents must ensure attendance regardless of a child’s background or circumstances of birth. She warned that no child should be denied access to education.
Parents who can afford school costs are asked to meet them so government support can reach children most in need. The Orphans and Vulnerable Children Grant is reserved for children who have lost both parents or whose families cannot pay school fees. Applicants must submit a signed affidavit confirming eligibility, and Social Welfare Offices will reject false submissions.
The Deputy Prime Minister urged all parents to act responsibly and ensure every child in Eswatini has the opportunity to learn.
