Matsapha Police have arrested a 26-year-old man from Kwaluseni following an attempted murder case involving a 31-year-old resident of the same area.
The incident occurred on 7 February 2026 at around 3:10 am. Police reports indicate that the suspect and the victim clashed at a local drinking spot after a heated argument. The dispute reportedly stemmed from a fist fight between their children earlier in the day, during which the suspect allegedly assaulted the victim’s child.
When the two men met later at the drinking spot, the victim asked why his child had been attacked. According to authorities, the suspect responded with hostility and allegedly stabbed the victim multiple times in the back using a sharp object. 
The victim was rushed to hospital and is receiving medical care for his injuries.
The suspect was scheduled to appear before Matsapha Circuit Court today to face charges related to the assault.
