MBABANE – The second edition of the Made in Eswatini Consumer Fair 2026 officially opened today at the Mbabane Municipal Council, bringing together local entrepreneurs, innovators, and businesses to showcase home-grown products and services.
The event, which will run along Dr Sishayi Road on Friday, 1 May, aims to strengthen the Kingdom’s economy and empower Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). “I call on all consumers, businesses, and institutions alike to rally behind local enterprise and ensure that Eswatini’s products and services remain at the centre of our purchasing choices,” said the Honourable Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade, Manqoba Khumalo.
Her Royal Highness Princess Sakhizwe pledged to fully cover exhibition fees for more than 25 award-winning Eswatini companies recognised at last year’s Eswatini Consumer Choice Awards. The Royal support ensures these top-tier businesses can participate without financial contribution, allowing them to focus on showcasing their excellence.
The launch also featured a vibrant performance by Thamsanqa Sibandze, popularly known as KrTC, who celebrated local talent and entrepreneurship. During his act, KrTC referred to Mbabane as “Mbab City the CapCity,” capturing the pride surrounding the fair.
MTN Fintech Eswatini came on board as Platinum Sponsor with an investment of E100,000 per year over the next three years, facilitated through the MTN MoMo platform. Representing CEO Sam Shongwe at the launch, CFO Rose Fakudze said, “As MTN Fintech, we believe that a strong economy of any country is embedded in strong local businesses, be they small or well-established.” She added that the sponsorship will support the integration of digital financial solutions into the “Made in Eswatini” value chain.
