MBABANE – The Royal Eswatini Police Service and the Institute of Development Management have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening collaboration and improving service delivery within the country’s public sector.
The agreement was signed on Thursday at Police Headquarters in Mbabane, bringing together senior officials from both institutions to formalise a partnership focused on building capacity and improving institutional performance.
The partnership will see the two organisations work together on targeted programmes covering leadership development, cybersecurity and project management, as part of efforts to shape a more responsive and citizen centred public service. 
National Commissioner of Police, Mr Manoma Vusi Masango, said the police service remains guided by its constitutional duty to protect life and property while maintaining peace and security across the Kingdom.
“The REPS is mandated by the national constitution to protect life and property and to maintain peace safety and security within the Kingdom of Eswatini hence it requires continuous learning, innovation, research and strategic partnerships,” he said.
Masango said the collaboration with IDM would support the police service in adapting to evolving demands through continuous professional development, adding that the relationship would be built on mutual respect, trust and cooperation.
IDM Country Director Mr Karabo Baipidi described the agreement as a step towards strengthening public institutions and improving professionalism within government structures.
“This partnership will extend beyond training into areas of research, policy development, and institutional strengthening through quality assurance, ensuring that #REPS continues to evolve as a modern, responsive, and professional #police service aligned to both national and international best practices,” he said.
Baipidi also revealed that IDM will provide two scholarships annually to police officers for any programme over a period of five years, as part of efforts to invest in skills development and long term institutional growth.
