MBABANE – The Police Headquarters Region has hosted a prayer service ahead of Easter 2026, bringing officers together for spiritual reflection as they prepare for duty during the holiday period.
The service, held under the theme “Taking Your Pain To The Cross,” was organised to help officers reflect on their calling and seek spiritual strength as they continue serving the nation during one of the busiest weekends on the policing calendar.
National Commissioner of Police Manoma Vusie Masango attended the gathering and addressed members of the service. He spoke about the role of faith in policing and the need for officers to remain steadfast as they carry out their responsibilities. 
“Our role as #PoliceOfficers is to serve and protect the citizens during the Easter and beyond hence this service provides the opportunity to acknowledge that Jesus Christ died so that we could be saved,” he said.
The Easter period traditionally sees increased movement across the country, with officers deployed to manage traffic, ensure public safety and respond to incidents while many families attend church services and gatherings.
The prayer session was led by Bishop Zachariah Mthethwa, who preached from Isaiah 53: 4 to 5. In his sermon, he prayed for protection and divine guidance for officers who will be on duty while others spend time with their loved ones.
Bishop Mthethwa spoke about the sacrifices made by members of the Royal Eswatini Police Service in honouring their oath of office. He asked God to shield them and grant them strength, drawing from the suffering of Christ as described in Isaiah 53:4 to 5.
