Nine charged over Shewula man’s murder

Nine men have been arrested and formally charged in connection with the murder of a 37-year-old man from the Shewula area, the Royal Eswatini Police Service has confirmed.

The suspects, all from the Msengeni area, are aged 52, 47, 45, 39, 36, 21, 21 and 19 years respectively. They have already appeared in court and were remanded into custody.

According to police, the nine men allegedly beat the deceased and left him for dead at Nduma forest in the Mantsholo area after accusing him of stealing dagga.

The victim’s family reported him missing on Saturday, 11 April 2026. His body was discovered on Tuesday in a decomposed state inside the forest.

Police at the Lomahasha station led the investigation, which ultimately linked all nine suspects to the crime.
