Mozambique’s Cabo Delgado Province has officially launched its First International Conference on Industrialisation and Agribusiness, known as CIAGRO, which is scheduled to take place on 18 and 19 June 2026 in the city of Pemba.
The launch ceremony took place on Saturday, 25 April, with Cabo Delgado Governor Valige Tauabo explaining that CIAGRO will serve as a platform to identify real investment opportunities, establish public-private partnerships, create agro-industrial clusters, promote technological innovation and strengthen small and medium-sized enterprises and cooperatives in the province.
Cabo Delgado is regarded as one of Mozambique’s most promising regions, endowed with vast natural resources, significant agricultural potential and a strategic location that positions it well for regional and international trade. The Governor said it was essential to turn those resources into wealth, convert opportunities into employment and ensure that economic growth translates into inclusive and sustainable development for the people of the province.
The Secretary of State in the Province, Fernando Bemane de Sousa, described CIAGRO as a decisive step towards unlocking the full potential of the resources held by Cabo Delgado. He called on participants to take a leading role in promoting the conference ahead of its June dates.
