Mbabane – The Eswatini Electricity Company has announced planned power interruptions across several parts of the country on Thursday, 30 April 2026, due to routine maintenance, service construction and fibre wire installation works.
The Hluti depot will carry out routine maintenance affecting Mlindazwe and kaThumbela areas from 09:00 to 16:00, while the Mankayane depot will work on Lushikishini, Montigny, Mandlakhe Bar, Dununu, Nkosingithathe, Mofu, Steinkamp Farm, Emseni Primary School and surrounding areas from 09:00 to 16:30.
The Matsapha depot will have multiple interruptions during the day. Mhlane, Sigodvweni and surrounding areas as well as Magevini Flats and surroundings will be affected from 09:30 to 16:00, while other works in the depot’s area will run from 10:00 to 16:00, with a shorter interruption scheduled from 11:00 to 13:00 for a new connection.
The Sithobela depot will affect the Sithobela Recreation Sports Centre from 09:00 to 16:00, while the Manzini depot will carry out works affecting Ngculwini, Joy Primary School, Matshonga and Sigayweni during the same period.
The Malkerns depot has the most widespread interruptions of the day, with works affecting Phonjwane, Gilgal and Macetjeni from 09:00 to 16:00, Gebeni, Gebeni High School, New Village, Gebeni Royal Kraal, Hummermill, Emaplazini and surrounding areas also from 09:00 to 16:00, Dvudvusini and surroundings from 10:00 to 16:00, and Lobamba Lomdzala, Don Don and surrounding areas from 09:00 to 16:00.
The EEC has urged members of the public to treat all electricity structures as live at all times during the planned interruptions and has apologised for any inconvenience caused.
