Ezulwini – Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Senator Pholile Shakantu on Thursday received courtesy calls from two European ambassador-designates to Eswatini, ahead of the EU Partnership Dialogue scheduled for Friday in Mbabane.
The minister met with Danish Ambassador designate H.E. Karen Poulsen and Portuguese Ambassador designate H.E. Jorge Manuel da Cunha Monteiro in separate engagements held on Thursday, 7 May 2026.
Discussions centred on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across key sectors including development, trade and institutional partnerships. 
The meetings also formed part of preparations for the 3rd Eswatini-EU Partnership Dialogue set for Friday at the Hilton Hotel in Mbabane, where broader cooperation frameworks between Eswatini and its European partners are expected to be discussed.
