Johannesburg – Citroën has officially confirmed pricing for its C3 Hola panel van in South Africa, with the load-carrying derivative entering the market at R242,500.

The Hola is based on the entry-level Max variant of the C3 and takes direct aim at rivals such as the Hyundai Grand i10 Cargo and the Volkswagen Polo Xpress in the non-SUV based, locally converted panel van segment.

For businesses and traders in the region looking at affordable, practical transport solutions, the Hola arrives as a ready-to-work option straight from the showroom floor.

The most notable change over the standard C3 is the removal of the rear seats, replaced by a completely flat load floor and a metal cage-type partition separating the cabin from the cargo area. Citroën has also sealed the rear side windows shut, fitted protection bars in front of them, and blacked out the rear window. The result is a claimed payload of 386 kilograms.

Despite the commercial conversion, the Hola retains the full standard specification of the C3 Max, including 15-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, electric mirrors, manual air-conditioning, a multi-function steering wheel, a seven-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10-inch infotainment system, a four-speaker sound system, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, tyre pressure monitoring, six airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors. A fire extinguisher is also fitted underneath the passenger seat.

Power comes from the same normally aspirated 1.2-litre three-cylinder PureTech petrol engine producing 61kW and 115Nm, paired with a five-speed manual gearbox driving the front wheels. Citroën claims a fuel consumption figure of 5.6 litres per 100 kilometres.

The Hola retains the five-year/100,000km warranty carried by the rest of the C3 range, though the two-year/30,000km service plan has been dropped and is now available as a paid option.

The C3 range is priced as follows: the Hola panel van at R242,500, the C3 1.2 Max at R274,900, and the C3 1.2T Max automatic at R317,900.
