Mbabane – Emaswati with a passion for storytelling, culture and the arts have an opportunity to attend a free workshop at the Eswatini Theatre Club in Mbabane this Wednesday, 27 May 2026, from 2pm to 5pm.
The Rooted and Rising Storytelling Workshop, presented by Kingdom XLR and the US Embassy in Eswatini, will bring together local theatre practitioner Siyethemba Dlamini, founder of Coyi Theatre, and American cultural heritage expert Charlie Lockwood, Executive Director of the Museum of International Folk Art in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
The workshop will explore how stories shape identity, anchor communities to their roots and open new doors for the next generation. It forms part of the US Embassy’s Freedom 250 celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the United States, with a focus on cultural heritage and the arts.
