The tour began with an inspection of the Buhleni Pier Bridge, a vital crossing serving the Buhleni community by providing access to Buhleni Primary School and the Mawelawela Community. Mkhaliphi and his team evaluated the current condition of the bridge and its overall progress, noting its importance as a daily link supporting social and economic activity in the area.

The team then moved to Mkhitsini, where they inspected existing road conditions and identified sections requiring attention, assessing the overall usability of the road network to inform future maintenance and rehabilitation programmes.
