Lobamba – South Africa’s Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Blade Nzimande, paid an official visit to the King Sobhuza II Memorial Park in Eswatini, where he was received and hosted by the Eswatini National Trust Commission (ENTC), the custodian of the national heritage site.
The visit gave the Minister and his delegation a closer look at the history, cultural heritage and legacy of His Majesty King Sobhuza II, one of Eswatini’s most revered leaders and a central figure in the nation’s history. Through guided engagements and discussions, the delegation gained deeper insight into King Sobhuza II’s leadership, his contribution to the preservation of Eswatini’s cultural identity, and his role in shaping the country’s development and national unity.

The occasion also served as a platform for reflecting on the longstanding historical, cultural and people-to-people connections between the Kingdom of Eswatini and the Republic of South Africa, ties rooted in decades of mutual respect, cooperation and regional solidarity.
The ENTC said it was greatly honoured to receive the delegation and expressed appreciation for the Minister’s interest in Eswatini’s cultural heritage.
