Ezulwini – India’s High Commissioner to the Kingdom of Eswatini, Mr. N. Ram Prasad, was among the dignitaries who attended the United States Embassy’s Independence Day reception in Ezulwini on Thursday, marking 250 years of American independence.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Ram Prasad described the relationship between the two countries as one built on shared democratic values.
“The relationship between India and the United States is the relationship between the largest democracy in the world and the oldest democracy in the world,” he said.
He said empathy between the two nations acts as the bond that holds the relationship together, and pointed to growing momentum at the highest levels of Indian leadership to deepen ties with Washington.
“It is the empathy that acts like a glue and strengthens the bonds between India and the United States,” Ram Prasad said.
