Lobamba – The Minister of Public Works and Transport, Chief Ndlaluhlaza Ndwandwe, has conducted an on-site tour of the ongoing rehabilitation works at the Lobamba Clinic, a project headed by the Buildings Department, assessing progress on efforts aimed at improving the standard of healthcare infrastructure available to residents of the Lobamba area.
The Minister of Health, Mduduzi Matsebula, was also present during the tour, pointing to the collaborative and inter-ministerial approach being taken to ensure that the Lobamba Clinic is restored to a standard that meets the healthcare needs of the community. The Lobamba Member of Parliament, Honourable Michael Masilela, equally graced the occasion, reaffirming the support of the constituency’s leadership for the project.
During the visit, the Minister was pleased to note that the refurbishment of the clinic’s Child Care Section has been completed. The section now boasts newly renovated consultation rooms and bathrooms, providing a more comfortable and dignified environment for mothers and children who rely on the facility for maternal and paediatric care.
Attention will now turn to the Main Clinic, which serves the general population of Lobamba. Rehabilitation works at the Main Clinic will target the dentist section, the dispensary and the consultation rooms, in addition to the refurbishment of existing toilets. An additional toilet facility will also be constructed outside the Main Clinic to further ease congestion and improve sanitation for patients and staff.
The rehabilitation works are being carried out by Ubanzi Projects and are expected to be completed by the end of July 2026. The Minister urged the contractor to maintain the pace and quality of work in order to meet the anticipated completion date, noting that timely delivery of health infrastructure remains a priority for Government.
