The European Union has joined the Government of Eswatini, the Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA) and the International Trade Centre (ITC) in launching new trade and investment intelligence tools aimed at helping businesses, investors and policymakers make better informed economic decisions.

The tools, supported by the European Union, were launched in Eswatini as part of efforts to strengthen access to reliable and practical economic information.

Speaking during the launch, EU Ambassador to Eswatini H.E. Karsten Mecklenburg said access to dependable information was essential for businesses and investors seeking to participate effectively in the global economy.

“Successful participation in today’s global economy requires more than ambition. It requires information.”

The newly introduced Investment Attractiveness Dashboard and Market Intelligence Dashboard provide users with data designed to assist them in identifying potential markets, assessing opportunities and making informed decisions on trade and investment.

Officially launching the tools, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade Manqoba Khumalo described them as fundamental economic assets for Eswatini.

Khumalo also welcomed the continued partnership between the European Union and the Kingdom of Eswatini, particularly its support for economic activities and initiatives aimed at strengthening the country’s business environment.

The launch comes as Eswatini and the European Union mark 50 years of partnership.

The latest initiative forms part of the broader cooperation between the two sides, with the new intelligence platforms expected to improve access to economic data for businesses, investors and government policymakers.
