Mbabane – Eswatini’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Senator Pholile Shakantu, on Friday received Dr Maria de Fátima Manso, State Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Communities Abroad of the Republic of Mozambique, for a courtesy call as the two countries explored ways of strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The meeting focused on the longstanding relationship between Eswatini and Mozambique, with both sides discussing the need for continued high level engagement and the effective implementation of existing bilateral agreements.
Among the areas discussed were security, defence, trade, transport, consular affairs and regional cooperation.
Shakantu welcomed an initiative by the Mozambican government to bring consular and documentation services closer to Mozambican nationals living in Eswatini.
The minister also expressed appreciation for the continued cooperation between the two governments in dealing with matters affecting their respective communities.

The engagement provided an opportunity for the two sides to discuss practical areas where cooperation could be strengthened, particularly in sectors affecting citizens and cross border relations.
