NEW YORk : Eswatini’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Senator Pholile Shakantu, has held talks with senior officials of the American Jewish Committee (AJC) as the Kingdom seeks to deepen dialogue and cooperation with the global Jewish community.
Shakantu met Congressman Ted Deutch, Chief Executive Officer of the AJC’s Edward and Sandra Meyer Office of the CEO, and Robert Lapin, AJC President.
The meeting provided an opportunity for the two sides to discuss areas of mutual interest and explore opportunities for stronger cooperation between Eswatini and the organisation.
The American Jewish Committee is a nonpartisan global advocacy organisation that has worked on issues affecting Jewish people for more than 120 years. Its engagement with Eswatini forms part of the Kingdom’s broader international outreach and diplomatic engagement.
Discussions included opportunities for closer economic cooperation and partnerships that could create practical benefits for Eswatini.
Shakantu said Eswatini values partnerships that strengthen connections and create opportunities for cooperation across different sectors.
Agriculture, technology, health and commerce were identified as potential areas for collaboration, alongside the importance of maintaining regular dialogue.
Eswatini and Israel established diplomatic relations in 1968.
