MBABANE – Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has expressed condolences to the Government and people of India following a tragic plane crash that claimed over 240 lives on Thursday morning.
The incident occurred shortly after take-off from Ahmedabad Airport, involving a London-bound Air India flight. According to international media reports, at least 242 passengers died in the crash, with emergency responders still working at the site.
Dlamini conveyed Eswatini’s condolences on behalf of His Majesty King Mswati III, Her Majesty the Queen Mother, the Government, and the citizens of the Kingdom.
He said the thoughts and prayers of Eswatini are with the bereaved families and the Indian nation as they mourn the loss and tend to the injured. The prime minister also extended good wishes for the safety and effectiveness of emergency crews at the scene.
