Mbuluzi project strengthens community leadership

Mbabane – The Mbuluzi Ecosystems Restoration Project (MERP), a partnership between the Eswatini National Trust Commission (ENTC), the Ministry of Tinkhundla Administration and Development, and international bodies like the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), recently concluded a four-day workshop aimed at strengthening local leadership in the Mbuluzi River Basin.

Held in the heart of the Basin, the workshop targeted Chiefdom Development Committees (CDCs) and focused on essential skills for community-driven development. The training covered three key areas: project proposal writing, negotiation skills, and monitoring and evaluation (M&E).

These sessions were designed to equip CDC members with the tools to draft robust, fundable project proposals, negotiate effectively with potential partners, and monitor the progress of development initiatives within their communities. The Ministry of Tinkhundla Administration and Development spearheaded the initiative, reinforcing its commitment to improving governance structures in rural communities.
