Two arrested for theft by false pretence in Lavumisa

The Royal Eswatini Police Service has arrested two men in connection with a scam that defrauded a 45-year-old pastor from Matsanjeni of over E34,000.

The suspects, a 25-year-old from KaBhudla and a 23-year-old from Buka, Ezulwini, were arrested on Friday, December 12, 2025, after allegedly tricking the victim into handing over the money. The pastor, who had fallen victim to the scam, was targeted in a fraudulent scheme that involved false pretences.

Thanks to a swift and thorough investigation, the police were able to track down the suspects just one week later, bringing the case to a close. In an unexpected turn, a third suspect, an 18-year-old teenager, was arrested by Mafutseni police on Tuesday. This teenager is also believed to be involved in the same scam.
