Police net multiple suspects in crime sweep

Mbabane – The Royal Eswatini Police Service arrested several suspects across the country between December 18 and December 22 2025 as part of ongoing operations targeting theft drug trafficking armed robbery and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

In Manzini and Lavumisa four male suspects aged 18 21 23 and 25 from Thulwane Mdumezulu kaBhudla and eZulwini were taken into custody over a theft case reported on December 8. Police said a 55 year old man from Nhlangano was scammed E79 643.10 from his bank account while in Manzini. Three of the suspects aged 18 23 and 25 were also charged in a separate theft by false pretence matter reported at Lavumisa Police Station after a 45 year old man from Matsanjeni lost E34 421 from his FNB account through an e wallet transaction on December 12.

At the Ngwenya border gate in the Mbabane region a 54 year old man from Lundzi was arrested after police discovered 64 kilograms of dagga concealed in a trailer attached to a white Mercedes truck.

In Simunye a 38 year old man from the kaPhunga area was arrested at Tabankhulu Estate for unlawful possession of a live round of ammunition measuring 2.2mm without a licence or permit.

Two men aged 21 and 22 from Nduyathini were arrested in the Hluthi area in connection with an armed robbery committed on September 10 2025. Police said the suspects allegedly attacked a family home while armed with a pistol and escaped with E2 000 in cash and a cellphone.

In Siphofaneni a 21 year old man from Waterpasse in South Africa was arrested for housebreaking and theft linked to an incident that occurred in May 2025. A firearm and other household items were reported stolen during the break in.

Matsapha police arrested a 30 year old man from kaPhunga after car parts valued at E49 000 were stolen from three Mercedes vehicles at kaHlobile on December 19 at about 0830 hours.

In the northern town of Pigg’s Peak a 27 year old man from Emvembili was arrested at Matsamo for being found in possession of a 20 LRA 9mm pistol without a licence or permit.

The Royal Eswatini Police Service urged members of the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement by reporting suspicious activities through emergency numbers 999 9999 or 112.
