Manzini police have arrested a 13 year old boy from Fairview in connection with the killing of a 50 year old man from the same area, turning what was meant to be a festive season into a tragedy for a local family.
According to the Royal Eswatini Police Service, the incident occurred on Friday 26 December 2025 at about 2pm in Fairview. Preliminary information indicates that the deceased and the child, who is his stepson, were involved in a brief argument before the situation escalated.
Police report that the man was stabbed once on the left side of the chest with a sharp object. He was rushed to Raleigh Fitkin Memorial Hospital, where he was certified dead on arrival. 
The 13 year old suspect was arrested later the same day and is currently in police custody. Authorities say he is expected to be formally charged and to appear before court on Monday once all required procedures have been completed.
The matter is being handled by Manzini police as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
