Police in Pigg’s Peak have arrested and charged eight men from Mavula in connection with the Boxing Day killing of a 46-year-old local man. The suspects, aged between 19 and 29, are also facing charges for property damage.
The violence in Mavula on 26 December left two people dead and caused significant damage in the area. Authorities say the suspects allegedly destroyed a Mazda 323 valued at E50 000 and caused damage to a house worth E25 749.
The arrests were made on 28 December around 4am, and the suspects are scheduled to appear in court today.
