Sidvokodvo police have arrested and charged three brothers aged 27, 38 and 25 from Mtfongwaneni in connection with an attempted murder that took place in the early hours of Christmas Day in the Kingdom.
The Royal Eswatini Police Service said the suspects are accused of attempting to kill a 42 year old man from the same area who was attacked on 25 December 2025 at about 0330 hours. The victim was shot twice on the left knee and stabbed twice on the head during the attack.
Police confirmed that the injured man was rushed to hospital where he remains admitted and is receiving medical treatment for his injuries.
Investigations revealed that the incident followed an earlier confrontation at a social gathering involving one of the brothers and the victim. The dispute is reported to have been over a woman believed to be romantically involved with both men.
After the disagreement, the three brothers allegedly went back home, where they armed themselves with their father’s firearm and other weapons before setting out to look for the victim. He was later located and attacked in Mtfongwaneni.
The suspects were arrested on 26 December 2025 at around 1400 hours in the same area. Police said they will also face an additional charge of contravening the Arms and Ammunition Act for the illegal possession of a firearm.
