Maseru – The Chief Executive Officer of the Vodafone Group, Mohamed Abdelrehim, on February 16, 2026 paid a courtesy call on Lesotho’s Minister of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation, Honourable Nthati Moorosi, as the mountain kingdom moves to strengthen its digital transformation agenda.
The meeting, held in Maseru, brought together senior executives from the Vodacom Group and officials from Lesotho’s Ministry of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation.
Abdelrehim was joined by Ayman Essam, Chief Officer Regulatory and External Affairs at Vodacom Group, Mohale Ralebitso, Chief Executive Officer of Vodacom Lesotho, and Tšepo Ntaopane, Head of Regulatory and External Affairs at Vodacom Lesotho.
Honourable Moorosi led her ministry’s delegation, which included Principal Secretary Kanono Ramashamole, Director ICT Thapeli Tjabane and Chief Legal Advisor ‘Makamohelo Mofilikoane, among other senior officials.
The courtesy call centred on discussions around a potential digital partnership between the Lesotho government and Vodacom. According to information released by the ministry, the collaboration is intended to support the country’s digitisation efforts, drawing on Vodacom’s experience in countries such as Kenya and Egypt.
