Swakopmund, Namibia will host the 2026 Southern Africa Inter Revenue Administration Games from 3 to 5 April, with the Namibia Revenue Agency taking charge of this year’s edition.
With only three days to go before the opening ceremony on April 3, preparations are at an advanced stage at Vineta Field, the main venue earmarked to host the regional sporting showcase. The games are held under the slogan “Unity in action, excellence in motion.”
SAIRAG brings together revenue authorities from across Southern Africa to compete in a range of sporting codes while strengthening professional ties among tax administrations in the region. Participating countries traditionally include Eswatini, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia and Botswana.
The annual tournament features football, netball, volleyball, pool, darts, chess, basketball, table tennis, tug of war and athletics. Hundreds of athletes and officials are expected to converge on the coastal town for the three day programme.

For the Eswatini Revenue Service, the Swakopmund games present another opportunity to build on last year’s performance in Harare, Zimbabwe. During the 2025 edition, staged from April 18 to 20 at the University of Zimbabwe Sports Pavilion, Zambia Revenue Authority finished top of the medal standings, followed by Revenue Services Lesotho, with hosts Zimbabwe securing third place overall.
Eswatini Revenue Service made its mark in Harare after clinching silver in the women’s darts category and claiming third place in men’s table tennis. The team will be aiming to improve on that record when competition gets underway this Friday in Namibia.
Host nation Namibia is expected to use the tournament to showcase its organisational capacity, while reinforcing cooperation among revenue bodies in the Southern African region through sport.
