MANZINI – Rehabilitation works on Nkoseluhlaza Street have reached a new stage, with contractors completing a major layer of road preparation as part of efforts to upgrade one of the city’s busiest routes.
The Ministry of Public Works and Transport confirmed that the AG Thomas team has finished installing the bitumen treated base along the full stretch of Nkoseluhlaza Street. This step clears the way for asphalt paving to begin, bringing the project closer to delivering a smoother driving surface for motorists and public transport operators who rely on the road daily.
Construction has now shifted to Ngwane Street, where work is currently underway. The project forms part of a broader plan to improve traffic flow and road safety within Manzini’s urban network. 
A section between the Gorge Hotel and the Manzini Lifestyle Shopping Mall has already been treated. Surfacing works are continuing in that corridor, with crews moving steadily towards Bhunu Mall as the next phase unfolds.
The Ministry stated that the rehabilitation programme remains on schedule, with progress recorded across all active sections. The works are intended to improve mobility for residents, businesses and commuters while upgrading the quality of road infrastructure in the commercial hub of Manzini.
