Mbabane – Thandokuhle Dlamini, widely known as Mathando, has released her latest track “Buyekhaya” featuring Athandwa, accompanied by an official music video. The 21-year-old singer from Lavumisa has spent the past three years steadily building her name in Eswatini’s afro music scene.
“Music makes me happy. Even though it’s tough, I encourage myself and take pride in my journey, even when faced with setbacks. It takes strength to keep moving forward,” Mathando said. She credits friends and family for their support and guidance and recalls performing at MTN city events, including her recent hit “Emathandwen,” which helped her reach larger audiences.
“Buyekhaya” is a heartfelt ballad inspired by real-life experiences, exploring the pain and hardship of growing up without a parent. The song touches on themes of loss, depression, stress, and anxiety, reflecting the challenges many face in such circumstances. 
The track was produced by Kinga Kangaroo at Swazi Swag Records, with mixing and mastering done locally. The official music video, shot and edited by director MayD, is available on YouTube
Mathando called on fans to support her project, noting the effort and sacrifices involved in creating the song. She also shared advice for aspiring artists: “You need to face challenges with courage and optimism, embracing life’s uncertainties while believing in your inner strength to overcome obstacles and achieve your dreams. Trust your abilities and never give up on your goals.”
