MBABANE – Upcoming gospel artist Sabelo Matse is preparing to release a new single titled Dwala Laphakade following a recent recording trip to Zimbabwe where he collaborated with prominent musicians Tererai Mugwadi and Discord from the group M’Afriq.

The project was recorded during Matse’s visit to Zimbabwe, a trip facilitated by Prophet Edd Branson and his publishing company EDD Branson Publishers after a special request from Zimbabwe’s deputy prime minister. While in the neighbouring country, Matse also toured disability empowerment centres including St Giles and Danhiko, where he commended efforts to support persons with disabilities.

EDD Branson Publishers Chief Executive Officer Nick Ncube confirmed that Dwala Laphakade has completed the mixing and mastering stage and is scheduled for release next week. The music video is set to premiere on Monday, with the audio version expected to drop on Wednesday across major platforms such as YouTube and, if all goes according to plan, local channels in Zimbabwe and Eswatini.

Ncube described the collaboration as a significant milestone for the artist and for regional gospel music. “Sabelo’s journey to Zimbabwe was more than just a recording session, it was a cultural exchange and a celebration of talent across borders. The release of Dwala Laphakade represents a meaningful step in promoting gospel music that inspires and uplifts, while also showcasing the unity between Emaswati and Zimbabwean artists,” he said.

Matse, who recently won the top award at Eswatini’s 2025 Music and Arts Festival for Persons with Disabilities, expressed excitement about the upcoming release. “I am truly grateful for this opportunity. The music video was filmed during my trip, capturing the spirit of collaboration and the beautiful moments we shared. I sing in Siswati, while Tererai Mugwadi sings in English, which makes this song a powerful blend of our cultures and languages,” said Matse.

Ncube added that the artist’s international exposure is expected to expand his reach within the region as a gospel musician. He also noted that the collaboration with Tererai Mugwadi and Discord reflects the growing commitment by EDD Branson Publishers to empower artists with disabilities and to strengthen cross border partnerships across Southern Africa.
