Namibia welcomes new deputy home affairs minister

Windhoek – Namibia’s Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security has officially welcomed its newly appointed Deputy Minister Edward Wambo, who assumed office at a leadership reception held at the Ministry’s Head Office in Windhoek.

Minister Lucia Iipumbu received Wambo at the ceremony and expressed confidence in his ability to lead. She said the two shared a vision anchored in synergy, trust and a commitment to driving transformative impact in service delivery to the nation.

In his response, Wambo thanked the Ministry for the warm reception and laid out his priorities clearly. He said he was committed to upholding the responsibilities of the ministry, including maintaining law and order, protecting and supporting migrants, ensuring safe and humane custody, as well as promoting the rehabilitation and reintegration of offenders.

He also pledged to work diligently to strengthen service delivery, uphold the Ministry’s mandate and foster collaboration across all levels of staff, reaffirming his dedication to advancing Namibia’s national development priorities through unity and collective effort.
