Govt opens scholarship applications for local and SADC studies

Mbabane – The Ministry of Labour and Social Security has announced that scholarship applications for emaSwati students wishing to study at local and SADC region tertiary institutions will open on Tuesday, April 22, 2026.

Students can apply through the official government application website at https://slas.gov.sz, with the closing date for applications set for June 30, 2026.

The scholarship covers studies at institutions in Eswatini as well as in Botswana, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Tanzania and Kenya.

Before applying, students are required to have the following documents ready: a national identity card, a birth certificate, a Form 5 certificate or statement of results, and an acceptance letter from a recognised institution.

Applicants must be below the age of 35 and must hold acceptance letters from universities, colleges or institutions sponsored by the Government of Eswatini through the Ministry of Labour and Social Security.

Students are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the Government Priority List of programmes of study, which is available on the Ministry’s Facebook page and the government website at www.gov.sz. Applicants are also urged to read carefully and follow all instructions as per the online application process before attempting to apply.

Those who need assistance with the application process can call 24042515 or visit the scholarship office in person at the reception on the ground floor of the old income tax building, known as etolishini, in Mbabane.
