Maseru – A team from Strauss and Co visited Lesotho on April 13 to support an ongoing digitisation project aimed at preserving and improving access to heritage collections held at the Morija Museum and Archives.

The visit was part of a broader initiative launched in 2024 and funded by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and the French Embassy to Lesotho. The project brings together the Morija Museum and Archives, Alliance Française de Maseru and IFAS in a joint effort to safeguard Lesotho’s archival heritage.

Following an audit conducted by Memorist last year, the Morija Museum and Archives is now actively putting key recommendations into practice with the support of Strauss and Co. This includes indexing archival collections and relocating them to a newly prepared storage space, which is described as an essential step toward the upcoming digitisation phase.
