MBABANE – The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has announced the temporary appointment of Mr. Kenneth S. Fakudze as Clerk to the Board, also referred to as Town Clerk, for the Hlathikhulu Town Board.
According to the Ministry, the appointment took effect on 27 April 2026 and will run for a period not exceeding twelve (12) months.
The Ministry stated that the appointment has been made in line with the provisions of the Urban Government Act No. 8 of 1969, read together with the Urban Government Staff Regulations of 1969. 
Mr. Fakudze, who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, comes into the role with considerable experience in local government administration. Prior to taking up duties at Hlathikhulu, he served as Town Clerk at the Mankayane Town Board for two terms, a period during which he showed strong leadership in municipal governance and institutional management.
His terms of reference at Hlathikhulu, as outlined by the Ministry, involve restoring effective governance systems within the Hlathikhulu Town Board, rebuilding stakeholder confidence, and overseeing the implementation of recommendations arising from the Commission of Inquiry report.
The Ministry has expressed full confidence in Mr. Fakudze’s ability to carry out the mandate with diligence and professionalism.
He was formally welcomed by Councillors on Tuesday and has assumed his duties with immediate effect.
