Piggs Peak Town Council joined government leaders and community representatives at the 3rd Responsible Tourism Conference hosted by Piggs Peak Hotel, with the council’s Mayor and Chief Executive Officer taking to the stage to present how the northern Eswatini town is being positioned as a preferred tourism destination.
The conference brought together a broad mix of voices, all focused on turning commitments into measurable results on the ground.
The Mayor and CEO told delegates that the council’s approach goes beyond plans on paper, pointing to practical steps, active partnerships and accountability measures already being felt in the community.
Discussions at the conference covered a wide range of connected issues, moving from national policy and shared value creation, to support for small businesses and local economies, and the protection of natural resources for future generations.
Delegates also held frank conversations about the challenges that continue to slow progress, including accountability gaps, implementation difficulties and the need to ensure that tourism genuinely benefits communities, businesses and visitors alike.
