Ezulwini – The Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade, Manqoba Khumalo, has officially launched the 20th edition of the Entrepreneur of the Year Awards at Royal Villas in Ezulwini, marking two decades of recognising and investing in emaSwati entrepreneurs across all four regions of the Kingdom.
The 2026 edition runs under the theme “20 Years of Nurturing Future Growth” and brings together government, the private sector and entrepreneurs in a celebration of what the programme has built since it began.
Over the past 20 years, the awards programme has recognised more than 162 outstanding entrepreneurs, injected over E2.4 million directly into businesses, supported more than 1,600 jobs and contributed to a combined turnover exceeding E167 million across participating businesses. 
FNB Eswatini, the title sponsor of the awards, injected E2 million into the 2026 edition, continuing a relationship with the programme that stretches back 20 years. The bank’s contribution was warmly received by Minister Khumalo, SEDCO Board Chairperson Dr Mandlenkhosi Dlamini and SEDCO Chief Executive Officer Khethiwe Mhlanga at the launch.
The Eswatini National Provident Fund also stepped forward at the launch, handing over E105,000 to the programme. “Lidlelantfongeni was honoured to hand over E105,000 at today’s launch of the Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, held at Royal Villas. For years, we’ve walked with SMEs, and we’re not stopping now. This sponsorship is more than funding. It’s our commitment to every small business owner building Eswatini’s future, one idea at a time. Minister Khumalo noted the importance of aligning the initiative with His Majesty King Mswati III’s 40th year of reign and the national call for Agape Love through service, empowerment and inclusive economic participation. Appreciation was also extended to SEDCO and all partners whose continued investment has sustained and grown the programme over the years.
