Mbabane – The Minister of Natural Resources and Energy, HRH Prince Lonkhokhela, has officially received a brand new vehicle from World Vision to support the Department of Water Affairs in monitoring and implementing rural water projects across the kingdom.

The handover took place on Thursday, April30, 2026, and marks another step in the growing partnership between the Government of Eswatini and World Vision. The vehicle is jointly funded by both the government and World Vision and will be used to accelerate service delivery to communities benefiting from rural water projects in 18 constituencies across the country.

The partnership has already delivered a number of impactful projects across Eswatini, including the Tfutfukani Water Scheme in Mhlangatane, multiple water schemes and spring protections in Ekukhanyeni, and the Mlindazwe-Tsambekwako Water Supply Project under Gege Inkhundla, which has benefited communities in BakaMdluli and Hlatshwako.

The collaboration is guided by the Nkwe framework and supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 6, which calls for universal access to clean water and sanitation by 2030.

The government said the newly received vehicle will play a critical role in ensuring that more communities benefit from reliable water supply and that more projects are expected to roll out within the current financial year.
