Mbabane – The Inyatsi Foundation has announced a E500,000 sponsorship for the Eswatini Schools Arts and Culture Competitions, in a launch held this week that brought together educators, students, government officials and business leaders from across the Kingdom.

The sponsorship was made possible through the combined support of several entities within the Inyatsi Group, namely Inyatsi Construction, Construction Associates, Eswatini Mobile, Embiveni, Lidwala Insurance, The Clinic Group and Maloma Colliery.

This year’s competition carries the theme “Honoring 40 Years of Legacy Through Arts & Culture,” marking the 40-year reign of His Majesty King Mswati III.

Speaking at the launch, a representative of the Inyatsi Foundation said: “As the Foundation, we believe arts and culture are powerful tools for nation building. They preserve our identity, unite communities, inspire young people and give future generations a voice to tell the story of who we are as emaSwati.”

The Foundation also acknowledged other sponsors supporting the initiative, including the Eswatini Network of Women, recognised for their ongoing contribution to youth empowerment through arts and culture.

A new sponsor was also welcomed at the launch. Genesis Ekucaleni Media, founded by Honourable Senator Pholile Shakantu, will sponsor the Drama and Theatre Category. The company recently made history by producing BakaNgwane, the first Eswatini movie to be screened in cinemas.

The Foundation further paid tribute to its Executive Chairman, Michelo Shakantu, describing his passion for community empowerment as the driving force behind the Foundation’s work.

To students taking part in the competitions, the Foundation had a message: “Continue believing in your talent. Through your gifts, you are preserving the legacy of our Kingdom and carrying the pride of Eswatini culture into the future.”
