Mbabane – The Eswatini Electricity Company has announced planned power outages across several parts of the country on Thursday, 28 May, and Friday, 29 May 2026, as part of routine maintenance and construction work on its electricity lines.
On Thursday, 28 May, the following areas will be affected:
The Siteki depot will carry out routine maintenance in Sibovini and Sithobela from 09:00 to 16:00. Pigg’s Peak will see routine maintenance in Bulandzeni, Mabhodleleni and surrounding areas from 09:00 to 16:00. Big Bend will conduct routine maintenance in Malayinini, Ngwenyaboga and surrounding areas from 09:00 to 16:30. Elangeni will carry out fibre wire installation work in Ngowane, Ngowane Primary School, Lanyandza Primary School and Mboko Hammer Mill from 09:30 to 16:00. Madlangempisi will conduct routine maintenance in Bar J Village and Mavimbela from 09:00 to 16:00, and service construction work in Esitsheni from 09:00 to 16:00, as well as project construction in Antioch and Sidvokodvo from 09:00 to 16:00. Mankayane will carry out routine maintenance at Montigny Fire Station, Ludvondvo MTN, Eagles Nest and surrounding areas from 09:00 to 16:30, as well as service construction work in Gobholo and Hlobani from 09:00 to 16:00. Stonehenge will have planned maintenance in Lugegedze, Mkhokhi, Crufis and Sihlotjeni from 08:00 to 16:30, with Big Bend conducting planned maintenance from 11:00 to 16:00. 
On Friday, 29 May, the Siteki depot will carry out service construction work in Lukhula and KaLanga from 09:00 to 16:00. Madlangempisi will run a project construction in Ebusweni and Dvokolwako at Croydon from 09:00 to 16:00. Manzini will conduct project construction work at Elwandle Royal Kraal and surrounding areas from 10:00 to 16:00.
EEC is urging members of the public to treat all electricity structures as live at all times throughout the duration of the planned interruptions, regardless of whether power appears to be off in their area.
